Effective date: Feb 21 2026. These terms govern access to and use of Obscura Document Redaction (the "Service").
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
You retain all rights in the documents and data you upload. You are responsible for the legality of your content, for maintaining appropriate permissions, and for verifying the accuracy and completeness of redactions before sharing or relying on output.
You agree to use the Service in compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR, UK GDPR, and similar laws where they apply. If you process personal data, you are the data controller (or processor) and are responsible for your legal bases, notices, and consents.
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis as described in your plan or order form. Unless otherwise agreed, fees are non-refundable and non-cancelable except where required by law.
You are responsible for applicable taxes, duties, or governmental charges, excluding taxes based on our net income.
When we describe a plan as "unlimited," we mean there is no fixed numeric quota for normal internal business use during the subscription term. Unlimited plans are still subject to reasonable limits to protect the Service and other customers.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes during the subscription term, subject to these terms and plan limits.
Each party may receive confidential information from the other. Each party will use the same degree of care it uses to protect its own similar confidential information (but no less than reasonable care) and will use the information only to fulfill obligations under these terms.
Confidential information does not include information that is public, independently developed, or rightfully received from a third party without confidentiality obligations.
We retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including its software, designs, and documentation. You retain all rights in your content.
If you provide feedback or suggestions about the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that feedback without restriction.
You will defend and indemnify us from claims arising out of your content or your use of the Service in violation of these terms or applicable law.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
History and other convenience features are provided to improve workflow. We work to keep history available, but it is not a system of record. Keep your own backups for critical records.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, Obscura's total aggregate liability for direct damages arising out of or related to this Agreement shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by Customer to Obscura in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
We may terminate or suspend access to the Service if you violate these terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
You agree to comply with applicable export control and sanctions laws and regulations. You may not use the Service in or for the benefit of countries, entities, or individuals subject to comprehensive sanctions.
You may not assign or transfer these terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Neither party will be liable for delays or failures in performance due to events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, labor disputes, or internet service disruptions.
Enterprise or negotiated terms, including custom throughput, automation, security, or support commitments, may be provided in an order form or separate agreement, which will control in the event of conflict with these terms.
To discuss custom terms, volume pricing, or a formal order form, contact our sales team.
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date will be updated, and continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
